In my 30+ years of educating, I have taught at Iran Dokht, a girls' high school in Iran, Dept. of Defense schools in Germany, and public schools in Ohio and Maine. My interests today center around use of Open Source and Web 2.0 tools to transform learning. I believe that technology should be a staple, not a privilege, and I strive to bring my passions, children and technology together for the betterment of both.
I love what I do.

Greetings from the Grand Canyon State!
I'm Dennis Oliver ("Dennis in Phoenix"), an educator who has been involved in ELT for more than 35 years. I'm no longer teaching, but I've worked with elementary through adult students in all skill areas and at all proficiency levels; my favorite classes have been grammar, writing, pronunciation, and listening and speaking, and I'm particularly interested in what I call "relaxed speech." I've been involved in online ELT since 1995, when I participated in two early ventures: the EX*CHANGE project done at the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign and Rong-Chang Li's Learning Oral English Online. I also created a lot of online material for Dave's ESL Cafe, and much of that material may still be found there.

Hello, BaWers!
I am Saša Sirk, an English teacher from Slovenia. I teach informatics, mechatronics and countryside management freshmen at vocational college of Tehniški šolski center in Nova Gorica. Feeling the urge to be able to bring the benefits of the internet more efficiently in my classes, I plunged into the cyber ocean and started to swim with the class of EVO BaW 06. Since then I am a Webhead and have been continuously learning to teach and learning to learn with and from other members. EVO and BaW have a special place in my heart - they opened a door to the world of friendship, connections, collaborations and F.U.N. I had not known before - I can't resist coming back for more every year.

Hello Bawers and Bawers to be,
I am Jose Antonio, an English Teacher in a binational language institute in Brasilia, Brazil. I will be moderating Week 4 with my dear friend an colleague Dennis Oliver I have been teaching since 1990. To tell you the truth, I think I have always been meant to be a teacher because when I look back, I remember I used to tutor younger kids and my classmates who had trouble in math and Portuguese between my 9th and 12th grade. I love teaching. I have a BA in Psychology and an MA in TESOL. I have to confess that my adventures in using technology for teaching and learning have made me love my profession even more. I have been taking EVO Sessions since 2006 and I have been taking BaW since 2009. I have placed my profile as a moderator and participant because that is the way I feel: I always learn a lot and try to help participants as much as I can. I am a great fan of blogging. Here are some of the blogs I have: blog in Wordpress blog in blogger blog in 21classes.
I am looking forward to starting this session and learning from everyone.
